The Diocese of Peshawar establishes a Relief Camp

For Internally Displaced Christian Families - Vocational Training Centre (CVTC), Mardan.

The number of IDPs at the Camp is gradually increasing, but by the Grace of God, Peshawar Diocese is managing to take good care of these unfortunate families. Initially, there were 46 families at the Camp; now 20 more Christian families have arrived.

The IDPs are providing shelter, food, clothes, medical aid and other necessity for daily life. Sports and leisure facilities have also been provided by the Diocesan Development and Relief Staff. A medical team from Mission Hospital Peshawar is looking after their health needs. Two serious patients suffering from paralysis have been brought to the Mission Hospital, Peshawar for proper treatment.

Pregnant women and other women with small children are being looked after and treated with special care. Three women recently gave birth to babies in the camp. The Diocesan Health Secretary, Prof. Naveed Attaullah, the Officiating Diocesan Secretary Mr. Pervaiz Ghouri, the Asstt. Director Development Mr. Asher Dean and Development staff, regularly pay visit to the Camp (CVTC, Mardan), they supervise and oversee the services extended by the Diocese. Rev. Yousaf Patras, our Priest Incharge for Mardan parish is responsible for the Pastoral Care.

In addition, the Dioceasn Youth Coordinator Mr. Insar Gohar also pays visits to the camp to console and counsel the youth of the IDPs, by taking their Bible Study. The Women desk officers also pay visit and always take gifts for the women and children. They also take some counselling sessions with the women.

The IDPs are not only provided with food, shelter and basic necessities, but their Religious and spiritual needs are also taken care of.
