CNI Re-commits in being United in Witness and Service and re-launches the official Synod website
As the Church of North India celebrated its 36 years of formation, the different Dioceses, congregations, institutions and organisations of CNI celebrated with vigour the essence of CNI, of being in unity as a form of expression and as an act both in witness and service.
Celebrating this Unity which took place on 29th November 1970 at All Saints Cathedral, Nagpur, a Eucharist Service was held at the Synod headquarters of Church of North India in New Delhi on 29th November 2006 where the staffs and ecumenical friends from other Churches and organisations partook in the bread and wine symbolising the body and blood of Jesus Christ which was broken and shed for the unity and integration of the whole creation.
The Rev. Dr. Enos Das Pradhan, General Secretary, CNI spoke of the mission journey of CNI in worshipping God and establishing shalom through its continuous engagement of restoring justice and dignity of God’s creation and by working towards being a transformed and transforming community. He concluded by wishing and challenging that, ‘May the 36th year of our united journey in this land be always a reminder to us that our God is trustworthy and may we be united to inspire and challenge others to be in unison.’
The Rt. Rev. Karam Masih, Bishop of the Diocese of Delhi celebrated the Eucharist along with Rev. Dr. Pradhan while the message was brought by Ms. Margaret Sumadh, Asia Secretary in United Church of Canada. In her message, Margaret spoke of the beauty of unity in diversity, the retaining of the essence of the bodies that come together yet preserving finer qualities of each of these bodies. Recognizing and valuing diversity rather than differences is vital. She reiterated that maintaining the unity is more crucial than getting the churches united.
On the same day after ten years of its first launch, the official website of Church of North India Synod www.cnisynod.org was re-launched during the celebration of its 36th anniversary in the CNI Synod Headquarters. It was re-launched by The Rt. Rev. Karam Masih, Bishop of the Diocese of Delhi together with The Rev. Enos Das Pradhan, General Secretary, CNI.
The Rev. Enos Das Pradhan, General Secretary, CNI shared with delight of the fulfillment of his vision of making this website more informative keeping in line with the latest technology to keep the different bodies of CNI, the Dioceses of CNI and their related institutions and organisations as well as all partners of CNI being linked together.
Mr. Sudipta Singh, Director Programmes, CNI mentioned that this website aims at communicating the life and growth of all bodies and agencies within and without CNI, creating mechanisms of linking each of them, sharing stories of success and celebration, as well as struggles of the life of the people. He mentioned that only 9 Dioceses have been linked with this website and assured the gathering that by the end of 2007 the rest of the 26 Dioceses will be trained and equipped by the CNI Institute of Information and Technology of the Programme Office to develop and maintain their websites.
