Indian Church summit to combat child exploitation

Earlier this month, the Church of North India (CNI) organized a National Consultation and Strategic Planning Meeting for Children at Risk at CNI Bhavan, New Delhi.

Forty participants representing different dioceses of CNI attended the consultation, which brought together various categories of people from civil society, experts and renowned social activists working on children at risk.

Organisations represented included Confederation of Industries in India (CII), UNIFEM, USAID, Global March for Children, Prayas, South Asian Coalition on Child Servitude (SACCS) and Church's Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) and other prominent NGOs and agencies.

The programme included presentations from various noted social activists, discussions on various strategies and concluded with a commitment made by the participants and a list of recommendations.
